Who are Code Talkers?
The Code Talkers were mostly Navajo Indians in World War II. They have to go through a lot of training to fight in the war. You may be thinking why does the United States just use Navajo Indians as Code Talkers? The reason they used Navajo Indians was because they can speak their Navajo language fluently and other Americans could not. It would also be difficult for the Japanese soldiers to try and break their code. During the war our country started running out of Code Talkers. That is why they needed Navajo Indians. The codes that they made took a lot of time to develop. They made thousands of codes to use in the war. It was good if you were smart and had great knowledge so you could remember the codes. They combined different languages and letters to form words such as "be-la-sana" which means "apple." These codes were used in a very simple way to conquer the Japanese.
Code Talkers were also very helpful too. They saved lives by sending other Code Talkers information during the war. If they saw an enemy going in the direction where their teammates were they would radio them and tell them. The Code Talkers watched over everyone and helped their teammates. Whenever there was a change in the code, they would radio their teammates and update them.
The Code Talkers are still used today during battles. The Code Talkers from World War II created many codes for the war. Today codes are still used but the way they are created has changed.
